How to Best Use this Site

The intention of this website is not to replace government recognized, professional technical training at a culinary hands-on school. This is for personal development only.

If you wish to become a red seal, government certified chef I do suggest that you eventually go to a culinary school. The school that I went to is Stratford Chef School in Ontario, Canada. www.stratfordchef.on.ca

This site will eventually house a Video Library of about 150-200 "how-to" basic culinary and hospitality skills videos. Each is pre-filmed and pre-edited with lots of added interest for your viewing pleasure. (sorry, no nudity) Each video will range in time from 3-25 minutes in length.

There are 3 categories of videos:

  1. FREE: There is a small Freebie Video Library to get you started and inspired. Please check it out. More videos will be added in the future.
  2. FREE (for a short time): A collection of Video Webcasts where I talk with guests about various topics revolving around entertaining.
  3. Main Video Library which can be purchased as a Full membership package

Please put the email address maribel@fooddiva.com on your email contact/approved list. This way, your account information will not be sent to spam.

The membership package give you access to all videos for one low fee. Makes also a great gift idea too! There are three membership lengths to choose from:

  1. 1 month @ $35 (great way to try this out)
  2. 6 months @ $75 (a $ 210 value)
  3. 12 months @ $99 (a $ 420 value)

Corporate discounts are available for group memberships. See group discounts. It is fantastic reward, incentive or training program. The online videos are designed to compliment, NOT COMPETE with nutritional & dietician advice.

These videos are not just recipe oriented, but rather empowering skill-sets that will help you understand the mechanics behind the recipes as opposed to merely follow through on instructions.

I could do 3000 videos but it would be too intimidating! Where would you start?! A smaller yet equally interesting 150 -200 videos library is much more manageable.

Start with the basics. Get a good foundation, then every other cookbook will make so much more sense, or you’ll be able to decipher the little steps that aren’t written in it! I’m always amazed how incomplete or plain wrong some recipes can be. Your newfound diagnostic skills will detect and prevent the problems before you cook, not when it’s serving time.

I invite you to enhance your cooking expertise in your own comfortable environment. I hold no secrets! I truly feel that cooking is a life skill that is all too rare these days. Even a few lessons could bring a lifetime of eating bliss.

Don’t succumb to the snare of preservative filled, fast food dependency.
